House was built in 1944 by the Tannians, a prominent couple in Lewis county KY, as steel became available near the end of the war. The house is constructed of solid brick exterior on a full basement with a garage. Foundation is built on solid bedrock and four steel I-beams that span the length of the house in the basement. It boasts four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, formal living and dining rooms, music parlor, huge kitchen with butlers pantry, sun room and an office. Mr. Tannian was the chairman of the board at the local bank and his nameplate is still on the office door.
