Commissioned circa 1909 by William Edmund Moore I, Chief Accountant for People’s Natural Gas Company, and completed circa 1910. William Moore and his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Furlong-Moore and their family of 8 children took residence in the 3,000 square-foot Victorian by 1911. The house was situated on a quarter-of-an-acre lot, high on a hill with commanding views of the surrounding neighborhood known then as Edgewood Park. Nearby neighbors included members of the George Westinghouse family, who resided just two blocks away in a gothic style mansion along the main Avenue through Edgewood Park. The Moore Family remained in residence at the house until 1983.
